Why the World Can’t Stop Admiring Kenyans, And Honestly, I Get It!

Lately, I’ve come across quite a number of videos from people of different nationalities expressing deep admiration for Kenyans. At first, I thought it was just for views, but as I watched more, I realized there’s something truly special being recognized. And it made me proud. These are just a few of the things that stood out:

  1. Patriotism That Runs Deep
Kenyans love their country. We may complain about many things, and rightly so, but at the core, there’s a genuine appreciation for being Kenyan. It’s not unusual to see someone wearing a bracelet with the Kenyan flag, a small but powerful sign of national pride and belonging. And when yt,ou talk to people one-on-one, there’s always an effort to highlight the good in our nation, no matter the challenges.
  2. The Online Army: A Voice That Cannot Be Ignored
If you’ve been on social media, especially X (formerly Twitter), then you’ve probably heard of the “Kenyan Online Army.” This isn’t just a meme, it’s a movement. Kenyans will not hesitate to defend their country, often using witty memes and trending hashtags. Many individuals and even organizations have had to apologize after facing online backlash from Kenyans. But beyond just making noise, this online unity has recently been instrumental in pushing for justice, accountability, and social change, something many across the globe are now admiring.
  3. Boldness to Speak Up
When Kenyans believe in something, they speak up, boldly and without fear. Whether it’s politics, religion, social issues, or trending topics, you’ll find Kenyans sharing their opinions confidently through short clips, posts, or memes. Even when opinions differ, the courage to express oneself with audacity and passion stands out. This freedom and bravery to speak one’s mind is something many admire and respect.
  4. Being Informed and Aware
Thanks to strong internet coverage and active online communities, Kenyans are staying informed like never before. Videos, news, and updates are shared almost instantly, keeping people in the loop with current events. While this real-time sharing can sometimes be sensitive, especially for those directly affected, it has played a huge role in exposing injustice, spreading awareness, and helping people make better, informed decisions.

These are just a few reasons why Kenyans are being admired globally, and honestly, whether the praises are genuine or just for clout, I still find myself smiling with pride every time I come across them. Because yes, there’s something powerful about being Kenyan, and I hope you feel it too.
